The Breakheart Pond Trail sits within the Arcadia Management Area is Rhode Island largest recreational wilderness area, with over 14,000 acres of thick forest. There are plenty of hiking opportunities to enjoy the large park. This adventure features Breakheart Pond, the forest and wildlife. Wildlife that may be seen include deer, wild-turkey, squirrel and a variety of birds. Be apprised that dogs must be kept on a leash while on the trails. Also, the area is hunted, so it will be important to dress appropriately during the hunting season.
